DataArt Makes Turn-By-Turn Navigation on iPod touch a Reality; Develops New Application for iPhone
16th November 2009In an industry first, DataArt announced today that it has completed back-end development of GeoLife’s Navmii turn-by-turn navigation application for the iPod touch. Navmii is the first to bring GPS navigation with smart routing, interactive maps and spoken directions to the iPod touch. Navmii for iPhone and the iPod touch will be available in the U.S. this winter. DataArt matched GeoLife’s Navmii software with PosiMotion’s G-Fi mobile network / GPS router to develop the application, which is now available on the Apple iTunes App Store. The new application uses G-Fi’s satellite GPS for more accurate positioning than standard cellular or Bluetooth triangulation.

9th June 2009DataArt executive participated in "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride" for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) on June 7, 2009 around Lake Tahoe. Girish Nair, Senior Vice President of Business Development at DataArt, rode the 100 miles as a member of The Blackstone Group Team, which raised $200,000. Girish raised $4,600, with DataArt contributing half of the amount. Part of the Blackstone Team was iLevel Solutions, a new client for DataArt. Over 3,500 people participated in the ride, with LLS TNT (Team in Training) raising more than $6.8M in the support of the fight against blood cancers. "The ride was a tremendously moving event and demonstrated what motivated people can do to help find a cure for blood cancer," said Nair.

DataArt Announces 2007 Year-End Results

It currently employs 20 engineers, with up to 100 to be hired by the end of the year. “Kharkov has a very strong academic base, and a rather dispersed HR market. The opening of a facility in Kharkov allows DataArt to strengthen its financial software expertise while providing quality employment for local residents,” said Michael Zaitsev, CEO of DataArt.
“We are excited that DataArt will bring challenging projects to our local experts in financial software,” said Alexander Nikitenko, head of DataArt Kharkov. “Becoming part of a leading European IT provider is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Ukrainian talent and capabilities, and we look forward to do our best in servicing DataArt clients in the U.S. and UK.”
DataArt’s engineering force has been growing at 40% a year. The office in Kharkov is the third R&D office opened by DataArt in the last year. The main St. Petersburg facility currently employs over 250 people.
