Management Team

DataArt is led by an experienced management team both in London and St. Petersburg.

Peter Atalla

Chief Executive Officer

Peter has 10 years of experience in the computer industry, and 7 years in e-business. Previously, he was CEO of Black Ink Media, a vertical service provider (VSP) to the broadband streaming market in Europe and the US. Before this he was technology investment adviser to a private equity fund based in London called Serano. During his time with Serano, he advised on $140million worth of deals and was seconded on to the board of a number of Serano’s investments, including Australia’s largest mobile portal BlueSkyFrog.com, which was later acquired by Vodafone.

Peter has a degree in Applied Physics with a background in Artificial Intelligence. He has built high-tech, high-growth businesses, managed multi-million dollar software development projects and secured multi-million dollar sales contracts. Peter is responsible for the overall growth and strategic development of DataArt UK.

Dmitry Bagrov

Senior VP, European Business

Dmitry Bagrov is a Senior Vice President of European Business at DataArt, leading executive sales in the United Kingdom and overseeing all Western European client relationships. Bagrov joined DataArt in 2000 and has been instrumental in building the company’s European practice, having signed key UK clients in media and publishing, financial technology and public sectors. As a result, DataArt European revenue has tripled in the last three years.

Bagrov graduated from the prestigious St. Petersburg State University, and holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the department of Mathematics and Mechanics. He studied Sociology at the University of Munich and has extensively traveled through Europe. It is safe to say that Dmitry is the European face of DataArt. He is a frequent speaker at international industry conferences and events.

Robert Watson

Chief Business Analyst

Robert has a first class degree in Computer Science from Staffordshire University and has worked in the IT industry for the last 10 years. He has considerable experience in managing both large and small scale projects; from base station software at Lucent Technologies to streaming media and content management solutions for Black Ink Media, Inc. Robert has been in charge of developing the project management methodology and software development centre in St Petersburg. Robert is responsible for advising on overall systems architecture.

• DataArt Launches DataArt Labs, a Joint Project with Two Leading Universities in Kharkiv (Ukraine)

  11th July 2008 DataArt  announced the launch of DataArt Labs,  a new project  with Kharkiv National University and Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (KHNURE) . DataArt Labs project focuses on discovering young talented IT specialists , drawing  from the most accomplished students  and post-graduates, offering them  adequate roles in the company’s projects without strict time constraints. The arrangement allows students to gain hands-on knowledge of the industry, while clients receive discounted rates on selected projects.

• DataArt Secures Private Equity Investment

  28th May 2008 DataArt secured a $4 million private equity investment round, and is aiming to close an additional $2 million in the near future. The first outside capital investment DataArt has taken since the company’s inception in 1997 will be used to strengthen sales and marketing efforts in high-end applications development and to support geographic expansion of DataArt’s delivery capabilities in Eastern Europe.

• IAOP Names DataArt World’s Top 100 Provider for the Third Year in a Row

  15th May 2008 DataArt was named one of the world’s top 100 service providers by IAOP for the third year in a row. The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals gave the highest possible ranking to DataArt’s achievements and industry recognition, followed by the executive strength and global presence.
